After months of competition and narrowing down from close to 100 bands to just 5, the finals proved to be a true battle among the best of the best as all Power Jam finalists pulled the stops to deliver a power-packed finale worthy of the Power Jam brand!

POWER JAM 2008 - SINGAPORE'S ULTIMATE BAND COMPETITION

RULES & REGULATIONS

1. Window period to call for entries will be till 11 June 2008. All entries to be submitted by midnight of 12 June 2008.
2. Entries must be submitted via email to the official email address only.  No other submissions will be accepted.
3. Each band has 2 minutes onstage during Auditions to perform any song.  Judges have the right to shorten the 2 minutes if they feel it necessary.
4. Bands selected to go through to Semi-finals and Finals will have to perform one original song and one cover song – both of which must be pop-rock.
5. Bands will be given 3 minutes to set up before their turn.  Should they take more than time allocated, penalty points will be taken.
6. All contestants must submit a photo of the band.
7. Dress code must be strictly adhered to.  No shorts, singlets, slippers or pants shorter than ankle length for men allowed.
8. The dates for auditions will be: 14 June 2008 and 21 June 2008 at Timbre @ Substation.  Semi-Final will be held on 28 June 2008 at Timbre @ Substation and Finals will be at on 29 July 2008.
9. Minimum of 10 bands will be short-listed for the Semi-Finals, from which, only 5 finalists will be selected.
10. 1 winner will be selected during the finals.
11. Only Pop/Rock songs will be selected, and all songs have to be in English.
12. Death Metal songs are not allowed.
13. There should be no vulgarities in the lyrics and all bands are required to submit a copy of the lyrics to the organizers prior to the competition.
14. Organizers retain the right to disallow any original or cover that is felt to be adverse to the theme of the competition.
15. Band members are liable for the equipment provided – there will be one guitar amplifier, one full drum set, 4 microphones and one keyboard provided for all auditions and semi-final.  Please provide own equipment if this does not fill your requirements.
16. The judges’ decisions are final. 

ELIGIBILITY

1. This competition is only open to all bands without any existing contract with a recording label, contestants must be citizens or residents of Singapore.
2. Contestants associated with any label will not be allowed to join.
3. Contestants should be 18 years and above of age.
4. Each band should consist of a minimum of 2 members and a maximum of 5 members.
5. Gender mix is up to the discretion of the band.
6. All bands are required to play their own instruments. No sequenced music or minus 1 tracks will be allowed.

The organizers reserve the right to withdraw or change the rules or prizes at their discretion and at any time.
